WEMADE Opens Global Pre-Registration for Web3 Roguelike Hellsquad: Stone Rush
According to Business Insider, WEMADE has opened global pre-registration for Hellsquad: Stone Rush, a Web3 version of LightCON’s roguelike tower-defense game on the WEMIX PLAY platform.

The title is scheduled for launch in September and will use HELLSHARD and HELLSTONE as the core of its digital-asset economy. For Web3 gaming players, the relevant question is not whether pre-registration rewards are available, but whether the token loop adds usable infrastructure without increasing gameplay friction.
The economy has two layers
WEMADE describes HELLSHARD as an in-game bridge currency. Players earn it through active gameplay and use it to unlock items and other currencies, including HELLSTONE. HELLSTONE is positioned as the gateway into the WEMIX ecosystem and can be exchanged for WEMIX coin.
That structure separates progression from external token utility. In theory, it gives the game an internal resource layer before assets reach the wider WEMIX economy. In practice, the announcement does not provide the exchange rates, earning limits, supply parameters or transaction costs needed to evaluate the system’s throughput.
The distinction matters. A two-token design can isolate some in-game activity from external market latency, but it also introduces another conversion boundary. Every additional boundary creates friction for players and more state that the platform must coordinate. WEMADE has described the intended value loop. It has not, in the available details, demonstrated how that loop behaves under sustained player activity.
Pre-registration confirms access, not scale
The underlying game combines unit positioning, roguelike upgrades and wave-based defense. Players summon demons with different abilities, assemble squads, select Specializations and use Treasures while defending the gates of Hell. The Web3 version also introduces Hexstone Mine Wars, blockchain tokenomics and digital-asset ownership through WEMIX PLAY.
The original Hellsquad Rrrush! reportedly reached the top position on Google Play’s Top Games chart within three days of release and has recorded more than 1 million downloads since July 2025. Those figures are supplied in the announcement and refer to the original title, not to the Web3 version. They therefore establish an existing game foundation, but not adoption of the blockchain economy.
Players can pre-register through WEMIX PLAY. The pre-registration period runs until the official launch, with rewards expected to be distributed within two weeks of launch, subject to change. Access is restricted in certain regions, including South Korea, China, Singapore and territories subject to OFAC sanctions. That limitation is operationally important: “global” pre-registration does not mean unrestricted global participation.
The immediate practical step is to treat the registration campaign as an access signal rather than an investment signal. The announcement confirms the currencies and platform. It does not confirm token supply, marketplace rules, wallet requirements, item liquidity or the conditions under which digital assets can move between gameplay and the WEMIX ecosystem.
The bottleneck is still untested
The game’s architecture, as presented, is not a claim of open infrastructure. It is a controlled economy built around WEMIX PLAY, with HELLSHARD handling in-game progression and HELLSTONE connecting that progression to WEMIX. That may reduce complexity for players if the platform manages the conversions cleanly. It may also concentrate execution risk in the platform itself.
The missing measurements are straightforward. WEMADE has not supplied, in the available announcement, throughput targets for asset operations, expected transaction latency, limits on currency generation or the mechanisms that would prevent progression from being dominated by economic optimization. Without those details, the player-driven label remains a design description, not a demonstrated market structure.
The binary verdict is therefore unchanged: Hellsquad: Stone Rush has a defined Web3 economy and a scheduled access phase, but there is not yet enough evidence to judge the system scalable. Pre-registration can test demand. Only live operation can test whether the token loop survives contact with real player behavior.
